My revenge on Sharvey June 24, 2007

So I had mentioned that I got my revenge back on Sharvey for running off to California.  I had Sherry’s car key and so I was just going to move her car so she wouldn’t be able to find it when she got back.  But then an idea popped into my head.  Here was my brilliant plan…

Sherry's car full of balloonsSherry's car full of balloons

I wanted to fill the whole car with balloons, but Sherry has an SUV and Walgreens only had the small balloons.

Steering Wheel

$3.22 for a package of 100 balloons at Walgreens…
3 popped balloons…
2 rogue balloons that needed chasing down in the parking garage…
1 hour of my time…
Numerous weird looks from strangers as I sat in Sherry’s car blowing up balloons…
…Totally worth it.
If I only I could have been there to see their facial expressions.

I love when people mess up June 20, 2007

I love when people mess up.  Especially when it works to my advantage.  I went to Best Buy to buy blank DVDs.  It was a pack of 25 discs for $14.99.  I prefer to wait for a sale when it’s 50 discs for $14.99 but I really needed blank DVDs.  So I walked toward the registers to pay and this dude standing out in the aisle said he could ring me up.  He gestured me to his cash register and rang up my DVDs.  He told me my total was $8.81.  I was trying to remember if I had 81¢ on me and wasn’t really paying attention.  I handed him a ten and he gave me my change.  As the receipt printed out, he looked at it…quite intently.  I was wondering why he was holding my receipt and staring at it, instead of handing it to me and letting me go.  He shrugged it off and handed me my receipt as he told me to have a nice day.  As I got to my car, I remembered that the DVDs were supposed to be $14.99.  I got out my receipt and saw why the dude was confused.  Somehow, I got the employee discount.  Alright!  :)

Now, a good person probably would have gone back to correct the situation.  Me, on the other hand?  My first thought was to go back and buy another pack of 25 discs.  But then I realized that it was unlikely that I would get the employee discount again.

Muahahahaha June 18, 2007

Sharvey ran off to California, completely out of the blue.  At first, I thought it was just Sherry because she left me a facebook message saying she was in Cali.  Since she never mentioned this trip before, I thought some family emergency came up since she has family there.  I was greatly concerned.  But then, as it turns out, Sharvey just went out there for the hell of it.  I felt…tricked?  Bamboozled?  Bengleshnitzed?  So I planned a little revenge.  I’ll wait until they’ve seen it before I put up pictures.  Muahahaha.

An unusual day June 13, 2007

Today was unusual.  I saw 3 fire trucks, each in a different part of the city.  I thought this was strange since I don’t usually see fire trucks driving around.

At Panera, some dude was complaining to the manager about something.  I was too far away to hear what it was about.  Towards the end of his tirade, he raised his voice saying something about this happening to him twice.  He asked the manager for her name.  She began to answer, “My name is…” but he never let her finish.  He just walked away angry and started yelling.  “Thank you for insulting me twice.”  Then he addressed the rest of the restaurant, “Don’t eat here.  The food’s bad.  They like to put hair in the food.  It’s happened to me twice.”  Then why do you come back?  I have yet to have an incident at this Panera.  But there were these two old ladies behind me in line.  I guess their hearing isn’t up to par and didn’t hear what this guy was yelling about.  One of them was right behind me, like up in my personal bubble and asked me what was wrong.  I was thrown off by her invading my personal space and stared at her blankly.  I finally came to my senses to answer her saying I guess he was complaining about something.  So she turns to the other lady (also a little too close for my comfort) and asks her if she wants to leave since that young man had a problem with the food.  She replied that she’s never had a problem and they were already there.  Then she walked up to the cashier to ask a question about a soup.  Uh, hello?  We’re in line?  You can’t just cut just because you’re old and senile.  She was confused about the name of a soup.  Mushroom Trio.  She wanted to know if that was one soup or three.  Wow.  But the first woman was still behind me in line and told this other lady that I was in line in front of them.  Thank you.  Then the woman in line started stroking my back.  Not going to lie.  Freaked me out a little bit.

Another thing that happened…

I pulled up to a RED light.  I was turning left so I was in the left lane.  I looked in my rearview mirror and see this car coming up behind me, also in the left lane.  They switch into the right lane.  Then proceed to turn left, running the red light.  I don’t know where they learned to drive, but I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to turn left from the right lane.  And you’re not supposed to run the red light.  They didn’t even tap their brakes.  They just ignored the fact that there was a traffic light there at all.  Luckily the intersection was clear but that’s just stupid.

Rooney June 8, 2007

I saw Rooney at the Bottleneck in Lawrence with Kristin and Mary.  It was awesome!  We got there early and we were in the very first row of people, right at the edge of the stage!  And we got to meet the band after the show.  Oh, and before the show, we were walking on Mass St. to go get dinner and we saw them on the street walking towards us.  We talked to them for a bit.  Freakin cool.  I only had my cell phone with me so pics aren’t so good.

So close to the stage!

We’re so close!

Got to meet Robert!

Kristin and me with the lead singer Robert.

Signatures!

I got 4 of the 5 members to sign my poster.  Apparently the keyboardist is anti-social.

Now I have to put up some songs.  Here’s I’m Shakin’ probably their best known song.  It was on the OC.
