Aftershow sadness May 31, 2007

Back in April when Neeraj, Sherry, and I went to Springfield to see Switchfoot, apparently there was an aftershow somewhere.  I’m sad we didn’t get to see it.  How come we didn’t know about this?  :(

Here’s a funny video of a song Sean from Reeve Oliver used to sing at Seaworld when he worked there.  The other guy with the red hat singing and playing his guitar is Brad, the drummer from Reeve Oliver.  And you can see Jon from Switchfoot on the couch waving his arms in the air.

Here’s an AWESOME video of Jon and Sean singing “Say it ain’t so” by Weezer.  I love this song.

Kimchi Orange Shirt May 30, 2007

So I was just looking and shopping on the internet.  I was on Old Navy’s website because they gave me 10% off my next purchase if I filled out a survey.  Old Navy has a V-neck t-shirt with a variety of colors.  One of their colors is called Kimchi Orange.  I find this hilarious.  :)   If you don’t know what kimchi is, it’s a Korean side dish that we eat with our rice.  It’s cabbage that’s been fermented and seasoned.  It sounds really gross but it’s very good.

Sherry and I were studying at the library one time when she made the mistake of leaving me alone with her laptop.  Honestly, I just wanted to take a break and check my facebook.  But when I opened the site, Sherry’s login and password were saved on her computer so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some mischief.  :)

I didn’t put anything on her profile that didn’t belong there.

I could be on Jeopardy May 15, 2007

Well, maybe not.  But I’m watching right now and wow.

Jeopardy

The answer was “Robert E. Lee’s son George Washington Custis Lee was the aide-de-camp to this president.”

First person: “Who is Lincoln?”  No.

Second person:  “Who is George Washington?”  No.

Now I didn’t know what the answer was either but I knew it wasn’t Lincoln or Washington.  How could Robert E. Lee’s son be the aide to Lincoln, the president during the Civil War?  The war Lee fought in.  And what stumps me even more is Washington.  How could the guy be an aide to a president from the 1700’s???

Hey, Harvey.  Here’s a question for you.  When was the Civil War?

I need new friends May 14, 2007

Filed under: crazy, friends, target — hyperbean8 @ 2:37 pm

This is from awhile ago…

Neeraj, TD, Sherry, Harvey, and I were at Target.  Sharvey drove together, Neeraj and TD drove together, and I drove myself.  I thought we were leaving, so I got in and started my car.  I noticed Neeraj and Sherry were parked across from each other.  Both of them were waiting for the other to back out so they could just pull through.  Neither one wanted to back out.  They both stared at each other and gestured for the other to give up and back out.  We were there for a good 5 minutes.  I need new friends that won’t be such jackasses.

Neeraj and Sherry face off

Neeraj and Sherry stare each other down.  There was also a girl in the red car looking at all of us like we were crazy.

Raising stamp prices AGAIN? May 13, 2007

So, Happy Mother’s Day to you all.  I just got off the phone with my mother and she informed me that they’re raising the price of stamps again.  Now it will cost $0.41 to send mail.  What the hell.  I mean I guess it makes sense since no one really uses paper mail anymore with paperless billing and whatnot.  But for people like me who still likes to get and send snail mail, this 2 cent price raise is upsetting.  Grrr.

Stamps now 41 cents

Soulmates? May 11, 2007

Last night, my friend and I went to Roasterie to get coffee.  We stayed awhile to play cards.  Then one of the guys that works there comes over to our table, sits down, and asks what our ideal relationship is.  Uh, hello?  Who are you and why are you asking us this?  I figure out that my friend actually knows this guy, and he’s not just some random creepo hitting on us.  (But still kind of weird).

So the three of us end up talking about love and relationships for like an hour and a half.  It was really strange.  Anyway, the topic of soulmates came up.  Do you believe in soulmates?  Personally, I think it’s a load of crap.  There’s no way that there’s only one person out there for someone.  The other guy that was working at Roasterie (the one actually doing work) said that he didn’t think there’s such a thing as love.  All relationships are doomed.  That’s depressing, man.  He must have just broken up with someone or something.

Anyway, according to Wikipedia, a soulmate is “a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, friendship, love, intimacy, sexuality, and/or compatibility.  A related concept is that of the twin flame or twin soul – thought to be the ultimate soulmate, the one and only other half of one’s soul, for which all souls are driven to find and join.”

Sounds like a load of crap to me.  Like someone’s playing one big practical joke on all of us.
