I’m at the library studying when I hear beeping.  Some lady was punching in the numbers on her cell phone.  Okay, whatever.  Then I overhear her talking (rather loudly) to the operator asking for the number to Miller Nichols Library.  Uh…you’re AT Miller Nichols Libary, lady.  But okay, whatever.  She hangs up and dials the number for MNL.  I guess she got a recording and left a voice message asking how to make a copy of a periodical article.  Right after she hangs up, she calls the operator back and asks for the MNL phone number again.  So she calls MNL again and I guess got a real person this time.  Once again, she asked how to make a copy of a periodical article.  I guess it was a really difficult concept for her to understand that you have to go to a copy machine, put in money, and make copies because that conversation lasted a lot longer than it should have.  And why did she call the library anyway?  She could have gone down to the 1st floor and asked the person at the circulation desk (we were on the 2nd floor).  She would have saved herself and the rest of us a lot of grief.  She wouldn’t have had to call the operator, and she wouldn’t have wasted her minutes.  Wow.

Haunted Microscope April 27, 2007

Yesterday I was in microscope lab checking out histology slides of the adrenal gland.  But something wasn’t right with this microscope.  When I looked in the eyepieces, there were a pair of gold eyes staring back at me!  I swear it.  I know I haven’t been getting much sleep lately but I know what I saw.  There were two eyes watching me whenever I looked into this microscope.  And it was only this microscope.  And these eyepieces.  I didn’t see these eyes anywhere else, so I know I’m not crazy.  Otherwise I’d see these eyes in every microscope, right?  And no, they weren’t the reflection of my own eyes.  I’m not stupid.  The freakin microscope was haunted.  It freaked me out, man.  And why were they eyes gold?

My BFFs Sherry and Neeraj and I saw Switchfoot two nights in a row.  We drove 3 hours from KC down to Springfield on Monday.  Then on Tuesday we drove 1 hour from KC up to St. Joseph.  It was pretty freakin awesome.  I guess I really get into concerts and I scared away the little girls next to us with my singing and jumping.

Jon crowd surfs

Jon Foreman, the lead singer and guitarist, was crowd surfing in St. Joe.  I got to touch his left shoe!

Switchfoot

Switchfoot rockin it out.  From left to right:  Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, piano, vocals), Andrew Shirley (guitar), Chad Butler (drums), Jon Foreman (lead vocals, guitar), and Tim Foreman (bass and vocals).

At both concerts they covered Bad Religion’s Sorrow.  It was awesome.  I found a video on youtube where they sang it live on the radio.

Here’s the original Bad Religion version.

Sherry, Neeraj, and I went to two Switchfoot concerts this week: Springfield, MO and St. Joseph, MO.  The opening band was a band from San Diego called Reeve Oliver.  They were pretty awesome.  We even got to meet them after the concerts and they signed our cds.  Check them out on myspace.

Don’t walk under any ladders, cross the path of any black cats (fuckin cats), or break any mirrors.  Life might be more fucked up than it already is.

Check out Switchfoot’s newest single “Awakening”

The music video is pretty awesome.  And funny.

It features three actors: Tony Hale (Stranger than Fiction, Arrested Development), Adam Campbell (Epic Movie), and Jayma Mays (Heroes).  I don’t know any of these people but just a factoid for you.

Easter April 9, 2007

Over the weekend I got an e-card from this guy I’ve known my entire life.  I used to go to his house all the time when I was younger.  His kids are a couple years older than me.  I remember him at my 8th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese (then Showbiz Pizza).  Anyway, he sent me this Happy Easter card.  I think he still thinks I’m 8 or something.

But it made me smile anyway.  :)

Anyone who knows me knows that I love my boys in blue: The Kansas City Royals.  I know, I know…they are the worst team in the league.  BUT I still love them.  Anyway, my favorite player is the center fielder #9 David DeJesus.  And now he’s my facebook friend.  AWESOME!!!

Oh, by the way.  They won tonight.  They beat the fuckin Detroit Tigers 3-1.  Yeah, bitches.  I’m very optimistic about this season.  Of course, I say that every season.  But this year I mean it.
